Beyond Efficient...

Okay, so we knew our homes would be REALLY efficient.

But this is unreal.

Ladies and Gentleman, the actual August bill for our display home! We were hoping to average $75 a month at the display home but to hit $65 for the second hottest month this year in St. Louis?

Truly awesome.

What was the temperature the thermostat was normally set on?

The home is on a programmable thermostat adjusting temperature throughout the day - but the average temperature was 74 degrees.

um, color me unimpressed. i've got a few perks like thermal windows, but my regular brick house ran a lower utility bill than that in August. Granted, I was saving the environment and energy bills the old fashioned way - thermostat up around 78 degress. Not that you'll notice the difference coming out of that heat.

That's really low Matthew, nice work. Pretty much all the folks I talk to are floored when I tell them what we paid to cool our 1900 sq.ft. house.

Do you have extra insulation? What is your sq.ft?

What is the average water bill for the house? Or for St. Louis for that matter?

The average water bill for a home of this size would be $40 for 3 months using a room rate versus an actual reading. We have requested an actual reading due to our low flow fixtures and dual flush toilets and have yet to receive a bill.

It might be too soon right now but will you reply or post about the December utility bill, since St. Louis has had cold snaps and ice storms?

The Ameren bill for November was $53 and Laclede was $16. I'll let everyone know as soon as I get the December bills.
